Welcome to Tinicum Woodcraft, where furniture craftsmanship meets creativity in Bucks County, PA.
All of our wood furniture is built with sustainably harvested, North-American hardwoods. These woods come from trees that grow natively in Bucks County, PA. Less resources are expended transporting the wood from forests to saw mills and workshops.
Harvesting our Hardwood Trees
The Walnut furniture journey begins with the harvesting of Bucks County hardwood trees. Each tree is carefully selected for its quality, beauty, and unique characteristics, ensuring high-quality furniture pieces.

Saw Milling and Slab Creation
The harvested trees are milled into slabs with free or live edges, revealing the natural contours of the tree. These slabs highlight the sapwood, inner grain, and organic edges, preserving the tree’s natural beauty and individuality. The best logs are milled into slabs of 2” and 3” thick.

Drying the Wood Slabs
The wood slabs are air-dried one to two years under protective cover to reduce the moisture content with minimal stress. After air drying the slabs are then vacuum or conventional kiln-dried to optimal moisture content (6%-12%). Kiln drying is a very important process to stabilize the wood, remove moisture content and kill any possible bug infestation and only proper drying schedules and temperatures guarantee this.

Transforming Slabs into Finished Wood Products
The kiln-dried wood slabs serve as a canvas for creating a variety of wooden products, including table tops, countertops, benches, headboards, wall art, and more. Our leveling planes both sides of the slabs perfectly flat ready to use. Each piece is crafted to emphasize the natural beauty and unique features of the wood.
